Intilaaqah Oman was launched in 1995 and has been progressing and leaping to further heights since. Its vision is to create an entrepreneurial environment and help small businesses to prosper. Intilaaqah recognizes that start-up businesses go through many obstacles at the early stages it therefore addresses these obstacles by providing necessary training and counseling for the business owners. Throughout these years the program has contributed in the creation of many businesses and will continue to do so to achieve its objective of promoting and encouraging entrepreneurship.
Intilaaqah is one of Shell Social Investment initiatives in the Sultanate of Oman that has been modeled on Shell funded initiative called “Shell LiveWIRE” running in 26 countries worldwide. Intilaaqah aims to stimulate and encourage Omani youth to consider the option of setting up their own businesses, and to provide assistance to those who aspire to seek this opportunity, by providing them with training and counseling.
The program was launched in 1995 during the celebration of the Sultanate's 25th National Day and operated in 1996. The Program has always been supported by prominent organizations from both the public and private sectors including SANAD Program, Knowledge Oasis Muscat, Sultan Qaboos University, Bank Muscat, Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Oman International Bank, Oman Air and Sohar Aluminum.
